The complete cast for the world premiere Chicago production of the new comedy musical, TOOTSIE has just been announced. Joining previously announced Tony Award nominee SANTINO FONTANA as Michael Dorsey will be LILLI COOPER as Julie Nichols, SARAH STILES as Sandy Lester, JOHN BEHLMANN as Max Von Horn, ANDY GROTELUESCHEN as Jeff Slater, JULIE HALSTON as Rita Mallory, MICHAEL McGRATH as Stan Fields, and REG ROGERS as Ron Carlisle.
Denise Richards Joins Will Rogers Institute's 2018 Theatrical PSA Campaign

The Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation (WRMPPF), the operating organization for the Will Rogers Institute, announced today that actress Denise Richards has joined their longtime summer theatrical PSA campaign. The fundraising campaign, which plays in movie theaters nationwide, is a time-honored tradition that began in 1936 and featured James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, and Bette Davis in the first public service announcement.

New Album by Jason Robert Brown To Be Released This Month

How We React and How We Recover, the new album from three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, will be released by Ghostlight Records this month. His first solo recording in over a decade is a politically-charged, far-reaching rumination on love, family and music. The album will be available in digital and streaming formats on Friday, June 29, with a physical CD planned for later this year. The release will coincide with New York City Center's Encores! Off-Center production of Brown's landmark New York debut show Songs for a New World, which runs from June 27-30.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the 21st annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Julia Louis-Dreyfus on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. The Prize, which is named to honor one of the world's greatest humorists, will be given at a gala performance featuring some of the biggest names in comedy. This year's ceremony marks the 21st consecutive year that the Kennedy Center's marquee comedy award will be presented and broadcast nationally. Last night's star-studded event, Backstage at the Geffen, at the Geffen Playhouse grossed more than $1 million for the theater's education, outreach and artistic initiatives. The fundraiser, which recognizes leaders in the artistic community, supports the theater's mission to produce original, quality work and raises funds for its education and community engagement programs, honored legendary stage and screen performer Dick Van Dyke and award-winning composer, lyricist and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda. Comedian Jim Carrey presented the Distinction in Theater Award to Van Dyke and EGOT award-winning actress Rita Moreno presented the Education Impact Award to Miranda.

United Solo Announces Its Selections For 9th Season

The world's largest solo theatre festival announced its 2018 selections, which include over 120 productions from all over the world. These productions represent various forms of theatre, dance, and performance art, and will be presented at Theatre Row. The 42nd Street venue has been home for United Solo since 2010. The festival is a resident company at Theatre Row, where it has presented nearly 1,000 productions from six continents over the past eight years.
