Yellow Sound Label has announced the release of a ground-breaking new album from recording artist and musical theatre star Jeremiah James. The CD will be available August 10. Entitled TUPELO, also the birthplace of Elvis Presley, the album contains 12 songs made famous by Presley re-interpreted and re-arranged by New York's finest jazz and pop musicians. Jeremiah James has been a Presley fan since he was a child and his mother would grease his hair back for him so he could look more like The King.

Lin-Manuel Miranda and his hip-hop/rap group, Freestyle Love Supreme, will perform at New York's Gramercy Theatre at 7pm on August 5. Miranda founded the group at Wesleyan University along with Bill Sherman, Anthony Veneziale, and Thomas Kail; others joined the group in New York. In performance, Freestyle Love Supreme uses words supplied by the audience in order to create new rap songs.

Yesterday, August 2, the cast and creative team of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, starring Corbin Bleu, toasted their 1,000th performance on Broadway. Partaking in the toast was In the Heights mastermind himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, who recently joined the Heights tour out west. Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman Willis, the producers of the 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights, announced today that Seth Stewart will return to the role of 'Graffiti Pete,' the role he originated, for 4 weeks only from Monday, June 7, through Satuday, July 3, 2010 at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). In addition Corbin Bleu has added a final 3 additional weeks to his critically acclaimed run in In The Heights. Corbin Bleu's final performance is Tuesday, August 17, and beginning August 19, In The Heights will star American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.
