Town Hall presents Broadway Rising Stars: a national showcase that introduces New York audiences to the next generation of up-and-coming talent as chosen by a panel of discerning judges from among the most outstanding new graduates from schools such as the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, CAP21, Circle in the Square Theatre School, Marymount Manhattan College, The New School, NYU's Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and other acclaimed institutions. The 2015 Rising Stars is spearheaded by Scott Siegel, creator/writer/host of Town Hall's beloved Broadway by the Year series. Nightlife-winner Scott Coulter directs and acclaimed singer/songwriter Howard Fishman provides musical direction.

Raucously witty and devilishly ribald, love and money are at stake in David Ives' hilarious, rhyming 'translaptation' of The Heir Apparent by Jean-Francois Regnard. Comedic director extraordinaire Matt Walker directs the Los Angeles premiere of Regnard's newly rediscovered 18th century comic masterpiece for a June 19 opening at International City Theatre. The Muny announced today the complete cast for its production of Alan Jay Lerner (book & lyrics) and Frederick Loewe's (music) classic My Fair Lady. The production will be directed by Marc Bruni, choreographed by Chris Bailey and music directed by Ben Whiteley.

Geoff Hoyle's LEAR'S SHADOW Extends at The Marsh

The Marsh has announced award-winning actor/playwright Geoff Hoyle's newest solo show Lear's Shadow will extend, with continuing performances through June 27. It may be business-as-usual when great tragedians such as Laurence Olivier, Sir Ian McKellen, and Paul Scofield perform in King Lear, but this time a great clown tackles Shakespeare's masterpiece. Audiences experience King Lear like never before as the Jester (played by Hoyle), recently unemployed, tells his side to Shakespeare's most tragic, cosmic, and human of stories in this poignant solo performance. Lear's Shadow, written in collaboration with and directed by the master of the solo form David Ford, will run Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm and Saturdays at 5pm through May 30. Beginning June 4, Lear's Shadow will be performed Thursdays at 8pm and Saturdays at 5pm at The Marsh (1062 Valencia Street, San Francisco).  For tickets ($20-$100), the public may visit www.themarsh.org or call 415-282-3055 between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
