The Arts and Education Council (A&E) will celebrate the region's vibrant arts community when a diverse lineup of entertainment takes the stage at the 27th annual St. Louis Arts Awards on January 22 at the Chase Park Plaza. With acts ranging from jazz violin to dance to musical theater, the 2018 awards will have something for everyone in the audience to enjoy.

First Run Features is proud to announce the Los Angeles opening of Extraordinary Ordinary People, a sweeping celebration of the cultures of the world living and thriving in the United States. The feature-length documentary, directed by longtime filmmaker and folklorist Alan Govenar, opened in New York in September to terrific reviews.

The Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Segerstrom Center for the Arts will co-present Tod Browning's 1931 film classic DRACULA starring Bela Lugosi with original music by Philip Glass performed live by the legendary composer at the piano, the Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet, with Michael Riesman directing from the keyboard.

For his follow-up to 2016's purely improvised studio recording Strength & Power (featuring pianist Jamie Saft, bassist Trevor Dunn and drummer Balazs Pandi), the ever-adventurous trombonist-composer Roswell Rudd made a decided shift in direction on his first RareNoiseRecords release as a leader by embracing jazz standards he has loved and played throughout his long and illustrious career.

Forever Flamenco and Cihtli Ocampo will debut Voces ( Voices ), a genre and culture-crossing dance spectacle, at the Fountain Theatre. A limited two performance engagement takes place on Thursday, Nov. 9 and Friday, Nov. 10, both at 8 p.m.

On Today, October 13 and Saturday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. the Schimmel Center presents two evenings paying tribute to the iconic club The Bottom Line.

An original play commissioned by The Rose Theater has been selected by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for inclusion in the biennial festival, New Visions/New Voices. The event will take place April 27-29, 2018, marking the 15th showcase of this renown industry workshop.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces the biennial festival New Visions/New Voices from April 27-29, 2018, marking the 15th showcase of this industry workshop.

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents Crosscurrents, a collaboration by virtuoso musicians Zakir Hussain and Dave Holland on October 28 at 8pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Hussain, the world's foremost tabla master, joins forces with Holland bandleader, composer, and 2017 NEA Jazz Master bassist alongside a stellar quintet including saxophonist Chris Potter and vocalist Shankar Mahadevan. Together, the ensemble will explore the fascinating artistic intersections between jazz and Indian music, and bridge two genres seemingly worlds apart.

October is a month-long celebration of the 5th Anniversary of The Nash!  Within 5 years of its opening, The Nash has welcomed some of the biggest names in jazz, has been named as a national 'jazz hub,' has served as a home for hundreds of young, new jazz musicians and is a vibrant part of Phoenix's bustling economic development downtown.
