The Chicago Humanities Festival is moving full speed ahead towards the 27th annual Fallfest, releasing its full line-up of events. Fallfest/16: Speed will feature more than 100 events by prominent artists, authors, historians, scientists, and cultural commentators including Dan Savage, Maureen Dowd, Trevor Noah, and Jonathan Lethem.

With the 2016 Fallfest, Speed, fast approaching, the Chicago Humanities Festival is eager to announce the addition of several newsmakers, cultural commentators, and tastemakers to its line-up of more than 100 programs. The presenters include public intellectual Melissa Harris-Perry, appearing in conjunction with Illinois Humanities, New York Timesbestselling writer Mary Roach, Invisible Man Got the Whole World Watching author Mychal Denzel Smith, Fat Rice partners Abraham Conlon and Adrienne Lo, and a David Bowieand Prince-themed musical tribute.

Opening night at the Pabst Theatre this December celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Milwaukee Rep's A Christmas Carol. The city's mayor Tom Barrett was on hand with an executive from Wells Fargo, the production's corporate sponsor. Each man echoed that theater, especially this longstanding tradition of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, creates family memories that last a lifetime and brings the community together.
