Davis (2009 Writers' Guild Award winner and Daytime Emmy Award nominee for As the World Turns), composed by Douglas J. Cohen (2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Off-Broadway's Children's Letters to God, Richard Rodgers Grants and the Gilman & Conzalez-Falla Theatre Foundation Award for Off-Broadway's No Way to Treat a Lady), and conceived by Founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy (developer of new musical theatre works for Berkeley Playhouse including: Born And Raised, Bravado, and Just So Stories).

Berkeley Playhouse at the historic Julia Morgan Theater closes its seventh season with Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Jon Tracy (Berkeley Playhouse: Guys and Dolls, The Pirates of Penzance; Aurora Theatre Company, Shotgun Theatre Company, Marin Theatre Company, Magic Theatre, NY Fringe, San Francisco Playhouse) and choreographed by Matthew McCoy (Berkeley Playhouse: Shrek The Musical, The Music Man; Sixth Street Playhouse, Bay Area Musicals). Fiddler runs now through August 2, 2015. Opening night is tonight, June 27 at the Julia Morgan Theater, 2640 College Avenue in Berkeley.

TheatreWorks Artistic Director Robert Kelley will direct this uplifting musical, which takes its story from a book by Rosa Guy, in turn inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Little Mermaid.'
