Abingdon Theatre Company presents the New York premiere of John Morogiello's ENGAGING SHAW -- a new Off-Broadway play following the real-life courtship and battle of wits between socialite Charlotte Payne-Townshend and playwright George Bernard Shaw -- with an official press opening April 18 at Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan. Jackob G. Hofmann to direct.

Rabbit Hole will perform weekends April 16 to May 9.

Writers' Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce that A Minister's Wife, Writers' Theatre's musical adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Candida, will be produced by Lincoln Center Theater in the 2010-11 season. The original musical was conceived and directed by Michael Halberstam, adapted by Austin Pendleton with music by Joshua Schmidt and lyrics by Jan Tranen. The Lincoln Center production will be directed by Halberstam. Performances begin on Thursday, April 7, 2011 and opens on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street, New York City).

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced plans to produce the New York premiere of A MINISTER'S WIFE, a new musical adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Candida by Austin Pendelton, with music by Joshua Schmidt and lyrics by Jan Tranen during its 2010-2011 season. The Geffen Playhouse's 2010 / 2011 season builds on successful relationships with playwrights who have worked at the Geffen Playhouse in the past - Jane Anderson, Hershey Felder and Neil LaBute, and welcomes the newer voices of Pulitzer Prize winners Tracy Letts and Lynn Nottage. The first season in the newly named Gil Cates Theater, this collection of plays tackles often polarizing issues ranging from faith to war to sex. The season opens with Lynn Nottage's multi-award winning drama Ruined, continues with the crowd pleaser Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein, then kicks off the new year with the world premiere of Neil LaBute's The Break of Noon, followed by the world premiere of Jane Anderson's The Escort (a Geffen Playhouse commission), and concludes with the West coast premiere of Tracy Lett's Superior Donuts.
