The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance opens March 25 at Masquers Playhouse in Point Richmond. A celebrated modern classic, The Elephant Man tells the true story of Victorian freak-show attraction Joseph Merrick. The renowned doctor Frederick Treves takes Merrick into his care, making him a cause celebre. Astonishing the great and good with his intelligence and his resounding desire for love and understanding, Merrick is redeemed from a life of squalor. Having just finished a recorded-breaking run on Broadway, Scott Ellis' acclaimed production of The Elephant Man will transfer to London with the US cast starring Bradley Cooper, Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola this spring. The production is now confirmed to play a strictly limited season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from tonight, May 19th until August 8th.

Directed by 6-time Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis, the production began performances on November 7, 2014 and officially opened on December 7, 2014 at Broadway's Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street, NYC). The Elephant Man begins a 12 week limited engagement at London's Theatre Royal Haymarket on May 19, 2015 for a limited engagement through August 8, 2015.
