Service is thrilled to announce their production of Bernard Pomerance's THE ELEPHANT MAN (with original cello composition by Josh Bradford), Directed by Shawn Gann and starring Jason Leyva, Pat Watson, and Sara Lovett; and, featuring *Bert Pigg, and Chris Messersmith. The performance will premiere at The Firehouse Theatre on September 29 at 8:00pm. It will run through October 15 today, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Geffen Playhouse has announced the addition of award-winning playwright Anna Ziegler's Actually to its 2016/2017 season, a co-world premiere with the Williamstown Theatre Festival. The production is slated to run May 2, 2017 through June 11, 2017 in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. Opening night is May 10, 2017.

Winner of a Tony, Drama Desk, and New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, The Elephant Man is based on the life of Englishman John Merrick. A horribly deformed young man living in 19th Century London, Merrick becomes the star freak attraction in traveling side shows. After being discovered abandoned and helpless, he is admitted to London's prestigious Whitechapel Hospital. Under the care of celebrated young physician Frederick Treves, Merrick is introduced to London society and slowly evolves from an object of pity to an urbane and witty favorite of the aristocracy and literati only to be denied his ultimate dream: to become a man like any other.
