Deadline reports that Andy Garcia has signed on for Universal Pictures' MAMMA MIA! HERE WE GO AGAIN, the sequel to the studios' 2008 musical adaptation of the Broadway show.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced programming for its 2017-2018 theater season in an event on the famed Opera House stage that showcased performances from a range of work being presented and produced this season.

Drury Lane Theatre has announced the complete lineup of its 2018/2019 season, opening with Tony Award-winning South Pacific.

Sweden-based Norwegian artist Ane Brun's seventh studio album Leave Me Breathless reinterprets fourteen versions of classic hits from an array of artists including Radiohead, Joni Mitchel, Nick Cave, Foreigner, Bob Dylan, Sade, Mariah Carey among others. The album is available on October 6 worldwide via her own Balloon Ranger Records.

Variety reports that Beautiful: The Carole King musical's current Cynthia Weil, Jessica Keenan Wynn, has joined the cast of Universal's upcoming Mamma Mia! sequel Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

Jessica Vosk's pathway to Wicked stardom has been anything but conventional.

Deadline is reporting that further casting has been announced for the upcoming MAMMA MIA sequel film. Jeremy Irvine ('War Horse') will play young Sam while Alexa Davies ('Harlots') will take on the role of young Rosie, the character played by Julie Walters in the original film.

MAMMA MIA! officially ended it's farewell tour this past weekend, and it was interesting to see the audience reaction to a show I've seen at least six times. But, I'm a critic. The appeal is obvious really, it's a simple story (book by Catherine Johnson) that allows you to enjoy the undeniably catchy Swedish pop of ABBA (music and lyrics of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Stig Anderson). With the length of time that it's been touring, nationally and internationally, there's no doubt that generations will grow up knowing and loving this music, which, at the time, seemed like a passing fad back in the 1970's and 80's, although I'm not ashamed to admit I own their greatest hits vol. 1 and 2, most of which shows up in the score. The touring show that graced the stage of the Fox Theatre this past weekend (July 28-30) put on a splendid production, as engaging and charming as we've come to expect, and brimming with enough good humor to please everyone.
