AMERICAN IDIOT will begin performances at the ST. James Theatre on March 24, 2010 and open on April 20, 2010. VMedia featured a story on the making of American Idiot, based on Green Day's album of the same name. AMERICAN IDIOT will be produced on Broadway by Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman, in association with Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
Fire Ignites at AMERICAN IDIOT's St. James Theatre; No One Harmed

Yesterday, March 11, work on AMERICAN IDIOT was temporarily delayed when a fire broke out in the elevator shaft of the St. James Theatre. While an initial report into the FDNY indicated that someone was trapped inside the elevator, upon arrival firefighters confirmed that while the fire did indeed initiate in the elevator shaft, no one was inside. The building was evacuated and no one was harmed. The cause of the fire is still unknown and under investigation.

From 30 September 2009, a new cast of actors and puppeteers will join the National Theatre?s award-winning West End hit War Horse which is currently playing to packed houses at the New London Theatre. The National?s sell-out production of Nick Stafford?s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo?s book which transferred to the West End in March this year, has recently welcomed its 100,000th visitor to the New London Theatre. In June this year 150,000 new tickets were released for sale, taking bookings up to 12 February 2010.

Presented by Disney Theatrical Productions, the division responsible for such smash Broadway hits as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins, and David Mirvish, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL is based on the 2006 Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel Original Movie. The touring company, which is anticipated to travel to more than 60 cities across the United States and Canada, includes a live orchestra and a cast of 34 talented theatrical performers.
