The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) continued the celebration of its 25th anniversary by holding its 21st Simply Shakespeare reading of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor.' The participants for this rhinestone-studded cast in a down-home evenin' that was more colorful than a clown at a rodeo included Christina Applegate, Kenneth Branagh, Faith Hill, Eric Idle, Arte Johnson, Eugene Levy, Tim McGraw, William Shatner, Martin Short, Tracey Ullman and the co-chairs of the event Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, all of whom read one of Shakespeare's best known and beloved comedies.

The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) has been named the recipient of Actors' Equity Association's (Equity) 2011 Rosetta LeNoire Award. The Award will be presented in a special ceremony to SCLA Founder and Artistic Director Ben Donenberg on Friday, April 8th in the Union's Western Regional office in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be held prior to the start of Equity's National Membership meeting.
