Announced today, Alex Goley will assume the role of Young Wallace in The Circus in Winter which is now in rehearsals at Goodspeed Musicals.

Announced today, Dee Roscioli, who played Elphaba in the hit musical Wicked, will play Jennie Dixianna in the upcoming Goodspeed Musicals production of The Circus in Winter this fall at The Norma Terris Theatre.

Goodspeed Musicals marks thirty years of fresh, innovative, and original new musicals at its Norma Terris Theatre with a riveting production of The Circus in Winter. This new work will run from October 23 through November 16 at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn. ­

Choreographer Spencer Liff - hot on the heels of HEDWIG on Broadwaybig Tony win - joins Goodspeed's creative team this fall to bring some hot moves to this cool new musical. The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces nine awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its sixth year, the Fund will provide grants totaling $35,500 to nine organizations across the country.

Today at Goodspeed's 9th annual Festival of New Musicals, the two-time Tony Award-winning theatre announced plans for the production of a new musical, The Circus in Winter. Featuring a Book by Hunter Foster and Beth Turcotte and Music and Lyrics by Ben Clark, The Circus in Winter is inspired by the acclaimed novel of the same name by Cathy Day. The production will run this fall at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Connecticut, Goodspeed's home for new musicals.

Culture Project will rename their mainstage theatre, currently known as 45 Bleecker Street, the Lynn Redgrave Theatre this June. The announcement was made onstage by Mr. Buchman during the opening night curtain call for Culture Project's current production of Shaheed: The Dream and Death of Benazir Bhutto. A naming ceremony and commemorative gala in honor of the late Ms. Redgrave will take place today, June 3, 2013 at Stage 48 (605 West 48th Street, New York City). Honorary Chairs for the evening are Vanessa Redgrave, Liam Neeson, and Ms. Redgrave's three children Annabel Clark, Ben Clark, and Pema Clark.
