Photo Flash: 'Dead Man's Cell Phone' at South Coast Rep

South Coast Repertory will present the Southern California premiere of Dead Man's Cell Phone, Sarah Ruhl's fantastical new play about a woman who answers a dead man's cell phone and finds her life turned upside down. Directed by Bart DeLorenzo, Dead Man's Cell Phone runs Sept. 21 - Oct. 12 on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Low-priced previews are available Sept. 21 - 25. Opening night is Sept. 26. Press night is Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7:45 p.m. Tickets to Dead Man's Cell Phone may be purchased online at www.scr.org, by phone at (714) 708-5555 or in person at the SCR box office.

Gordon is dead, but his cell phone keeps ringing, and the stranger who answers finds her life turned upside down. That's the set-up for Ruhl's new show, Dead Man's Cell Phone. The show's cast features Andrew Borba (Dwight), Nike Doukas (The Other Woman/Stranger), Shannon Holt (Hermia), Christina Pickles (Mrs. Gottlieb), Lenny Von Dohlen (Gordon) and Margaret Welsh (Jean).

South Coast Repertory Elects New Officers

At South Coast Repertory's Annual Meeting on July 30, Board President Larry Higby presented an assessment of the 2007-08 Season and introduced a new slate of officers for 2008-09, headed by incoming President Wylie Aitken. The unanimously elected executive committee will lead the theater during the 45th Season (September 1, 2008 - August 31, 2009), which will be a landmark for South Coast Repertory and its founders David Emmes and Martin Benson, America's longest-running co-artistic directors.

Opening is tonight, Thursday September 27 at 7:45PM with performances through October 14 at the Julianne Argyros Stage.

Margulies Sails 'Shipwrecked!' into South Coast Repertory

South Coast Repertory will present the world premiere of Shipwrecked! An Entertainment - The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As Told by Himself). Gregory Itzin portrays the title role in this adventure from Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies. Directed by Bart DeLorenzo, Shipwrecked! will run from September 23 through October 14 on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Low-priced previews are available September 23 to 27. Opening night is September 28.
