by BWW News Desk - Jul 18, 2010

Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory) stars in a coming-of-age, coming-out story with a twist of terror: DOCTOR CERBERUS. Thirteen-year-old Franklin Robertson is trying to survive adolescence. His parents don't understand him, his brother torments him, he has no friends, and he's more interested in the high school quarterback than any girl. The one bright spot in his life is the glow of the black-and-white TV in his parents' basement. Here, he worships at the altar of the Saturday Night Horror Movie, hosted by the eerie Dr. Cerberus. Before long, Franklin is convinced that only by going on the show will his life be redeemed - by Dr. Cerberus himself! All performances are recorded to air on L.A. Theatre Works' syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

Antaeus Company's Resounding King Lear
by Don Grigware - Jun 28, 2010

Difficult to believe, but this is the first full production of a Shakespeare play performed by the Antaeus Company, which was founded to keep the classics alive. And that they have, most splendidly with Festivals, challenging new visions like Cousin Bette by Jeffrey Hatcher and Chekhov, but not the Bard - until now. This lavish yet economical King Lear proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that it has been most definitely worth the wait.
