California Shakespeare Theater continues its 44th Season with the West Coast Premiere of Everybody, a sparkling new riff on the 15th-century morality play The Summoning of Everyman by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, whom the New York Times calls "one of this country's most original and illuminating writers.' A finalist for the 2018 Pulitzer Prize in Drama, Everybody is Cal Shakes' second official offering under the New Classics Initiative (NCI), exploring what it means to be a classical theater in the 21st century, and to allow living writers to expand our classical canon. Directed by Nataki Garrett making her Cal Shakes debut, Everybody plays July 18 - August 5 at the Bruns Amphitheater in Orinda. Low-priced previews take place July 18-20; Opening Night is July 21. Mamma Mia! HERE WE GO AGAIN comes to cinemas July 20, 2018. Ten years after Mamma Mia! The Movie grossed more than $600 million around the world, you are invited to return to the magical Greek island of Kalokairi in an all-new original musical based on the songs of ABBA. With the film's original cast returning and new additions including Lily James (Cinderella, Baby Driver), the musical comedy will open on July 20, 2018.

Disney Theatrical Productions has just announced that Morgantown, WV native Trevor Dion Nicholas, who is currently starring as 'Genie' in the London West End production of Aladdin, will come home to play the iconic role in Pittsburgh, where the hit Broadway musical will play a three-week engagement from August 22 - September 9, 2018 at the Benedum Center. Additional casting for the Pittsburgh engagement will be announced at a later time. This tour is part of the 2017-2018 PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh series, presented by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and Broadway Across America.

On the eve of what would have been Anne Frank's 89th birthday, had she survived the Holocaust, The Playhouse on Park production of The Diary of Anne Frank, based on a new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, walked off with three out of the possible four awards it was nominated for, at the Connecticut Critics Circle Awards ceremony on Monday night, June 11.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents the East Coast premiere of Half Time, a new musical, with book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Nell Benjamin and additional music by Marvin Hamlisch and Ester Dean. Half Time began performances May 31, 2018 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Last night was the show's opening night.
