The 2018 New York Musical Festival will present the World Premiere of The Gunfighter Meets His Match (Abby Payne and Chelsea Retzloff, Producers) with music, lyrics & book by Abby Payne (Musical Theatre Factory's series at Joe's Pub), directed and choreographed by Jeff Davis of Glitter Kitty Productions (One for the Ages!), July 30th-August 4th at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

BMI Presents LOVE ME Songwriter Max T. Barnes With Multiple Million-Air Awards

BMI recently presented country hitmaker Max T. Barnes with four “Million-Air” Awards, which includes one for his late father, Max D. Barnes' “Chiseled In Stone,” which reached one million broadcasts. Max's “A Night To Remember” and “How Your Love Makes Me Feel” have both received two million radio spins, while “Love, Me,” made famous by Collin Raye, has garnered a whopping four million radio plays.
The Center For Ballet And The Arts At NYU Launches Artistic Partnership Initiative

The Center for Ballet and the Arts at NYU (CBA), the first-ever international institute for scholars and artists of ballet and its related arts and sciences, today announces the launch of its Artistic Partnership Initiative (API). API is a joint initiative between The Center and major professional dance companies around the world to advance the art of choreography. The API Fellowship will give artists selected by the companies the full resources of The Center and NYU for a three to four-week residency to develop new work. Nominees are artists with notable choreographic potential.
Canadian-Designed Gown Inspired By Environmental Disasters & Ocean Impact Will Go On Display at Royal Ascot in England

A stunning gown designed by Canadian Lucian Matis will be showcased at the upcoming Royal Ascot in England starting today. Designed in collaboration with artisans from Omba Arts Trust from Namibia, the gown was created as part of The Commonwealth Fashion Exchange exhibit. The complete look first debuted at Buckingham Palace last February and was later showcased in the Australian High Commission in London, until it was featured at April's Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit. Matis' unique look was a commentary on environmental disasters, using fashion to both highlight our failings and preserve ancient crafts.

Kinky Boots producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that David Cook ("American Idol" Winner, 7th Season) will return to the role of 'Charlie Price' in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) beginning on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He will play a limited run through Sunday, September 9, 2018. Cook succeeds Tyler Glenn (lead singer of the multi-platinum rock band, Neon Trees) who will play his last performance on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
