Ensemble Studio Theatre has announced the directors for the 38th Marathon of One-Act Plays, which will be fully comprised of work from artists who identify as Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC).

The cast is complete for Broadway’s highly Some Like It Hot! The company will be led by Tony Award winner Christian Borle as Joe, J. Harrison Ghee as Jerry, Adrianna Hicks as Sugar, Kevin Del Aguila as Osgood, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Sweet Sue, Adam Heller as Mulligan, Mark Lotito as Spats. Award-winning Pantochino Productions, a professional not-for-profit theatre company in Milford will open its 2022-23 season with two musicals, Richard O’Brien’s  “The Rocky Horror Show” and a new family-friendly Halloween musical, “School Spirits.” The two shows will play in repertory from October 14 through 30 at the MAC, Milford Arts Council on Railroad Avenue in Downtown Milford.

This week, Brooklyn Botanic Garden unveils two new birdhouses by legendary artist George Clinton made exclusively for its For the Birds exhibition. Clinton, the visual artist and musician who revolutionized music and performance in the '70s and '80s through the pioneering work of Parliament-Funkadelic, began painting birdhouses during the pandemic when he ran out of canvases to work on. Clinton's garden in Florida eventually filled with these birdhouses and become a “funk village” for the birds. This summer, Clinton created two new birdhouses for the Garden and For the Birds. Visitors can see the two new birdhouses by Clinton now on BBG's Magnolia Plaza.

ACM, CMA and GRAMMY Award-winning band Little Big Town – consisting of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook – release their new, 10th studio album Mr. Sun. “Three Whiskeys and the Truth” was written by Fairchild and Schlapman alongside their beloved Love Junkies (Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, and Liz Rose).

TDF has announced that celebrated costume designer Fred Voelpel and legendary scenic designer Eugene Lee are among the 2022 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients. Although Mr. Voelpel passed away in June, he will be honored posthumously with the TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design.

“No Future? Yeah Right” follows a near frenzy of excitement reached by fans online after the band confirmed their 8th studio record entitled Truth Decay, which will be out early next year. Philadelphia Artists’ Collective (PAC) will launch their 12th season with a production of Wine in the Wilderness by Alice Childress, performed at Poth Brewery. Presented in collaboration with TheBlackBestFriend as part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, the show will run for a limited engagement from September 22 through October 9, 2022.
