Today, in celebration of National Cat Day, producers announced casting for the North American tour of the first ever Broadway revival of CATS. The multi-year tour will launch at Providence Performing Arts Center on January 22, 2019 and play 24 cities in its first season.
With the holiday season fast approaching Arena Stage is readying their annual Gold Standard Musical. This year it's the classic ship shape Cole Porter musical from 1934, Anything Goes. The production begins performances on November 2nd and plays through December 23rd in the Fichandler space.
Very few actors can boast the resume, replete with some of the most iconic roles in musical theater, of Hume-Fogg Academic High School's Ava Locknar. Now a senior in Daron Bruce's and Lisa Forbis' renowned musical theatre program at the school, Ava's been at home on Broadway - albeit Nashville's Broadway - for four years, although it doesn't take much of a stretch of the imagination to envision her on the Great White Way, taking on more musical theater challenges.

Kicking off its 10th anniversary celebration of utilizing the performing arts to raise awareness for the fight against lung cancer, Upstage Lung Cancer (ULC) presents a one-night-only cabaret concert benefit Barbra, Bette & Bernadette, today, October 23, 7:30 pm at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown. The event is open to the public, a pre-concert silent auction begins at 6 pm. Presented in partnership with the LUNGevity Foundation, all proceeds from the performance support the critically important cause of early lung cancer detection research.

The famous Broadway musical from the 1960s, Funny Girl, was recently revived in London. A high definition film of that staged production has been produced and the River Street Theatre (RST) in Jaffrey will exclusively screen it for one day only on Wednesday, October 24 at 2pm and 7pm.
