The Broadway at Birdland concert series will present We're Gonna Have To Ask You To Leave...(a benefit concert to kick out cancer), to be presented at Birdland on Monday, January 23 at 7pm.

Transport Group,'s 2011 Gimme A Break! benefit honored playwright Douglas Carter Beane and composer/lyricist Lewis Flinn last night, December 5 at the Asia Society and Museum. Gimme A Break! began with a cocktail reception followed by a performance featuring Broadway stars sharing their 'big break' experiences through stories and songs. Broadway Unplugged returned for its 8th season in a row with yet another all-star line-up on Monday, November 14. Musical theater history was revisited when these great Broadway singers performed songs from the Great White Way the way they were originally heard -- un-miked!

The National Music Theater Conference, led by artistic director Paulette Haupt, enters its final week, and will present final readings of two new musicals, Suprema, with Book and lyrics by Jordan Harrison, Music and Lyrics by Daniel Zaitchik; and The Shadow Sparrow, with Book by Anton Dudley, Lyrics by Charlie Sohne, and Music by Keith Gordon.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center has announced cast members for this summer's National Music Theater Conference. The Conference, under the leadership of Artistic Director Paulette Haupt, runs from June 25 through July 15 at the O'Neill?s Waterford, Connecticut, campus and will develop not just three, but four original music theater pieces this season.
