Outrageously imaginative aliens and creatures designed by legendary makeup artist Rick Baker for the forthcoming film Men in Black™ 3 will be on exhibit with fantastical guns and other iconic props from the film at Museum of the Moving Image from May 9 through September 23, 2012.
To inaugurate a new quarterly series of in-depth conversations with top behind-the-scenes talent from film, television, and video-game production, Museum of the Moving Image will present an afternoon with celebrated production designer Mark Friedberg. In coming months, the Moving Image Master Class series will feature leading cinematographers, editors, special-effects artists, game designers, and more. "The Master Class series is in keeping with the Museum's mission to not only show the best moving image works, but also to explore the creative and collaborative process," said Executive Director Carl Goodman.
Museum of the Moving Image has received a donation from HBO of two costumes designed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Ann Roth for the HBO Miniseries Mildred Pierce, which was directed by Todd Haynes and based on the 1941 classic novel by James M. Cain.
