Jeanfranco Cardentey (Spring Awakening/Hangar Theatre), Lindsey Brett Carothers (Bring It On:The Musical/Broadway), Max Joseph (Curious George/TheatreWorks USA), Melody Madarasz (Academia Nuts/NYMF), Zachary Noah Piser(Godspell/Marriott Theater) and Santina Umbach (Mamma Mia!/Broadway) will star in the Off Broadway premiere of the interactive family musical, MAD LIBS® LIVE! based on the classic fill-in-the-blank word game Mad Libs®, which will begin performances on November 1 at New World Stages for a limited engagement.

Drama League Names 2015 Directing Fellows

The Drama League have announced the exceptional stage directors who have been selected as the 2015 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: Paul Bedard, Estefania Fadul, Aneesha Kudtarkar, Emily Lyon, Brad Raimondo, Austin Regan, Daniel Rogers, Annie Tippe, Sarah Wansley and Brandon Woolf. In addition, an eleventh fellow has been selected for a brand-new fellowship program, which will be revealed during the 81st Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony, which will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). Musical Theatre Factory to Present THE SACRED HARP Concert, 7/28

On Monday, July 28 at 8PM Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present an acoustic concert of songs from Peter Lerman's new musical play, THE SACRED HARP, about the nephew of a preacher who tries to break free from his Appalachian confines by building an enchanted guitar. The concert, directed by Austin Regan features Van Hughes (American Idiot, 9 to 5, Hairspray) and Christy Altomare (Mamma Mia!, Carrie: the Musical), as well as a full chorus performing traditional Sacred Harp hymns.

The Musical Theatre Factory (MTF), under the leadership of founding Artistic Director Shakina Nayfack and Managing Director Danny Abosch, announces the opening of a new midtown black box rehearsal and performance space with a full summer season dedicated to the development of new musical theatre. Musical Theatre Factory operates as a volunteer-based cooperative of artists and arts administrators committed to a process of peer evaluation and the cultivation of new work, free from the pressures of critical or commercial success.

Hamish Jenkinson, The Old Vic Tunnels' Artistic Director and Douglas Mclannet, its Administrative Director, flew in from London to attend the Sept. 6th premiere of "Damascus Square" at the United Nations. In front of a VIP crowd of Ambassadors, producer Richard Frankel, Ira and Inge Rennert, among others, Hamish took the stage post performance and said that the Old Vic Tunnels is committed to staging "Damascus Square" in the coming season.

Book of Mormon cast members Nic Rouleau, Will Blum, and Jason Michael Snow are set to perform on Monday, July 16 in MORMONS: A Musical Cabaret of Godly Proportions, a special benefit cabaret at Triad NYC. They will be joined by a host of Broadway performers singing musical theater songs for 'saints and sinners alike'. All proceeds will benefit the 2012 FringeNYC production of #MormonInChief, a new play by Matthew Greene.
