The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced casting for the additional concerts and events surrounding their 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Today, October 22nd the Festival kicks off with The 46th Minute, a concert featuring cut songs and new material from all eight 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals selections, followed by The 2014 Songwriters Showcase on October 23rd and The Songwriters Sessions on October 23rd and 24th, all at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Cabrillo Music Theatre is thrilled to announce that as of Friday, June 27 it had passed the $100,000 mark (from over 400 donors!) towards its goal of raising $250,000 to keep its doors open and launching its 2014-2015 season, featuring MARY POPPINS, MEMPHIS, OKLAHOMA and COMPANY. With still six weeks to go in its fund-raising efforts, Cabrillo "Family" members have initiated two fund-raising events "Coast-To-Coast" with a special benefit concert at the Triad Theatre in New York City on Monday, August 4 and a "CabrilloDance-A-Thon" scheduled on Friday, August 1-2 in Thousand Oaks!

Well, recently three members of the SISTER ACT First National Tour decided to liven up life on the road by creating 'Sunday Intermission Cover.' However with the impending end of their tour just weeks away, they have a challenge for all Broadway and Touring shows: Make a cover of a song during your 15-minute intermission on Sunday and post it to their website.

On Tuesday night, Sister Act: The Musical opened at Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. Based on the 1992 movie of the same name, the musical has music by Alan Menkin and lyrics by Glen Slater. If you are a fan of the movie, you'll see many of your favorite moments, along with a few new things to keep you interested. If you don't know the movie, you'll meet a lively cast of characters and get a story full of laughs.
