The Hollywood Reporter writes that STAR TREK and STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are in talks to write the franchise's next film for Paramount and Skydance Productions. Director J.J. Abrams is currently in negotiations to produce STAR TREK 3 through Bad Robot.

At a recent press junket for his upcoming film 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, actor Tom Cruise revealed to MTV News that the rumored sequel to the 1986 hit film 'Top Gun' is going to happen. 'We're working on it,' Cruise told the reporter when asked about the reported project.

According to Deadline, Director Martin Campbell is currently talks to direct the upcoming film version THE FALL GUY, based on Glen Larson's 1981 TV series. Walter Parkes will serve as producer of the film, now in development.
