The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Quinn, is pleased to present Burn All Night, with Book and Lyrics by Andy Mientus, Music by Van Hughes, Nick LaGrasta, and Brett Moses, Choreography by Sam Pinkleton, and Directed by Jenny Koons. Performances begin on Friday, August 18 and run through Friday, September 8 at OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge.
Ryan Scott Oliver's 35mm: A Musical Exhibition will be presented by students at Harvard University this fall on October 7th, 8th, and 9th. In preparation for the show, Ryan Scott Oliver and Lindsay Mendez, an original cast member, will come from New York, NY to Cambridge, MA to work with Harvard's 35mm production team.
This past week, Broadway Workshop presented their 2nd annual benefit concert at NYC's famed supper club - Feinstein's/54 Below. This years show was entitled - SHOWS WE'LL NEVER DO featuring songs from musicals that Broadway Workshop will likely never produce including; Avenue Q, Gypsy. A group of 136 Stagedoor Manor students from all over the world will sing and dance the grand finale at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®, marking the famed theatrical summertime training ground's fourth consecutive Parade performance. After traveling the entire parade route, the Stagedoor Manor students will arrive at Herald Square and introduce Santa Claus by performing the number "Santa By The Book" from Macy's new program Yes, Virginia The Musical. Yes, Virginia The Musical had its world premiere at Stagedoor Manor earlier this year and its original cast, made up of 28 Stagedoor Manor students ages 10-13, will accompany Santa and Mrs. Claus on their float for the entirety of the Parade route.
The Theatre Museum Awards for Excellence were held Monday night, April 30, at The Players Club. Helen Guditis, President of The Theatre Museum, five time Tony winner Stewart F. Lane, Chairman of the Board of The Theatre Museum and 2011 Honoree for Distinguished Service to the Theatre, Bonnie Comley hosted a celebration to honor excellence in the theatre.
