This month's "Frank & Friends," a regular feature with the Broadway at Birdland concert series, brought Broadway/pop songwriter Frank Wildhorn back to the stage with jazz superstar Jane Monheit and Las Vegas/Cafe Carlyle headliner Clint Holmes - and a better musical threesome would be hard to find. The Toronto Symphony's 2012-2013 Pops Season kicks off this week with Some Enchanted Evening, the first show of newly appointed Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke's new season. The evening pays tribute to Rodgers and Hammerstein, and joining Steven are Ashley Brown, Aaron Lazar and Jonathan Estabrooks. Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) will showcase six emerging dance-makers in its RAW Material series, an annual program which supports the work of budding choreographers who have shown promise to affect the field of dance. This year's performances, tonight, October 4 and tomorrow, October 5, feature a broad spectrum of dance, with world premiere works by Tough Cookie Dance/Michael Philip Richman and Josselyn Levinson-Dustin, Ashley Brown, Hadley Smith, Kellie Lynch & Tara Lee Burns, Anna Marie Shogren, and Abby Zbikowski|the new utility. All artists worked with Bessie Award-winning choreographer Yanira Castro to prepare for the production. Both shows are at 7:30 p.m.

Yesterday, August 13, Broadway at Birdland presented multi-Grammy and Tony-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn in his monthly concert series called "Frank & Friends." Joining Frank onstage were Constantine Maroulis (upcoming star of Jekyll & Hyde), Laura Osnes (Tony nominee/Bonnie & Clyde and upcoming Cinderella), Melissa van Der Schyff (Bonnie & Clyde) and Stark Sands (upcoming Kinky Boots).
