In 2004 on Broadway, against all the odds, a little show called AVENUE Q snatched 3 Tony Awards for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical from a monster hit, WICKED. This year, VR Theatrical and Kosie Smit are proud to be presenting this triple Tony Award winner to Johannesburg audiences.

Productions presented and hosted by the Fugard Theatre have garnered an incredible 26 Fleur du Cap nominations. The historic production of South African musical King Kong swept twelve nominations while the local premiere of the hit West End comedy Shakespeare in Love is nominated in four categories.

The 2017 nominees for the Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards have been announced. These annual awards are regarded amongst the most valued and prestigious in the South African performing arts industry. This year's ceremony will take place on 18 March at 17:30 at the Baxter Theatre Centre in Cape Town and promises to be an 'Elegantly Extravagant' evening.

CHEERS TO SARAJEVO, a drama written by Aimée Goldsmith and Lidija Marelic and directed by Ashleigh Harvey, will play a winter season at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre. The war drama is performed by Aimee Goldsmith, Stephen Jubber and Lamar Bonhomme, and runs from 26 June - 8 July at 19:00.
