Harold Sanditen will make a stop with 'Thoughts 'Round Midnight' during his musical tour for one show only on June 19, 2011 at 2 PM, at the Arthur Newman Theatre at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert following the success of this show in 2010 and 2011 in London, New York and Chicago.

First recognized in the 1930's as an art form and likely a version of the Moulin Rouge shows popular in 1890's Paris. Cabaret's influence could be seen in speakeasies, vaudeville, burlesque, and early TV variety shows. Today's cabaret is a mix of many medias but typically one in which a singer interprets songs with their feelings and emotions and adding stories and introductions known as patter to allow them to connect with the audience.

Arnaldo likes to say he is 'Opening hearts and minds through music, one cabaret at a time', and what a time he is having! In his current critically acclaimed show, 'C'est Si Bon', Arnaldo pays homage to his musical muse, the late, legendary Eartha Kitt. Although his vocal styling respectfully interprets the songs of Miss Kitt by emulating her style, it is not an impression - 'after all there is only one Eartha,' says Arnaldo.

Les Michaels Life Is A Cabaret Concert Series moves to Sundays at 2 PM in 2011 when award-winning writer, singer, composer, pianist, Melissa Vardey debuts her latest one-woman show in which we find her inhabiting the wonderful world of being underwater- figuratively speaking. Her only lifeline: her wits, skills at the piano and a sense of optimism while performing a variety of songs on piano, ukulele and percussion instruments, drawing from her own originals and her love of jazz, blues, pop, Broadway and classical.

The Desert will have a rare opportunity to see a new one-man musical presented by Jim J. Bullock on Sunday, January 23rd at 7 PM at the Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center in Palm Desert.
