BAD JEWS Comes to Capital Stage Today

Capital Stage presents Bad Jews by Joshua Harmon a  NY Times Critics Pick (2013). Amy Resnick, last seen at Capital Stage in August: Osage County, and Blackberry Winter will direct this Sacramento Premiere. Bad Jews will be the sixth and final production of Capital Stage's 2016-17 Season: Love + War, and will run from June 21-July 23, 2017 with a Press Opening today, June 24, 2017 at 8pm.

HARBORED Weaves Stories of Immigration in Site-Specific Show at Brookfield Place

Co-commissioned by Arts Brookfield and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) as part of the River To River Festival 2017, HARBORED is a new site-specific theatrical experience produced by En Garde Arts weaving together stories from the last two centuries of immigration in the U.S., performed a stone's throw from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty in the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place.

Pew Center Announces 53 New Grants for Philadelphia Artists & Organizations

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage today announced 53 grants in support of the Philadelphia region's cultural organizations and artists. The 2017 awards total more than $10.3 million and provide funding for 12 new Pew Fellowships, 39 Project grants, and two Advancement grants.

???????Tickets are now on sale to the inaugural Corkscrew Theater Festival, running August 7 - September 3 at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). Presented by The Brewing Dept. and Fortress Productions, this new summer theater festival provides early-career artists a high level of production support and features five world premieres and five readings performed in repertory over four weeks. Special attention has been given to theater makers who are developing work through innovative and unusual collaborative models. A majority of the participating artists identify as female.

BRAT Productions to present New Work at SoLow Fest

SoLow Festival is an annual event for solo performance held in Philadelphia, PA with the mission of inspiring individuals to make and produce art that would otherwise never be created. During the final weekend of the festival (June 22 - 25), two brand new works produced by BRAT Productions will be presented at Da Vinci Art Alliance (704 Catharine St.) - Jess Conda's Cinematic Human and James Haro's Post-April. 2017 Yale Institute for Music Theatre: Cast and Creative Team Announced

The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE (Mark Brokaw, Artistic Director) announces the creative teams and casting for the two original book musicals, COWBOY BOB, created by Molly Beach Murphy, Jeanna Phillips, and Annie Tippe, book by Molly Beach Murphy, music and lyrics by Jeanna Phillips; and GUMBO, music by Brett Macias and book and lyrics by Christina Quintana, conceived by Brett Macias and Christina Quintana, which are being developed in an intensive two-week summer lab at Yale School of Drama, June 13-24. Scott Frankel is the Artistic Advisor, and Catherine Sheehy is the resident Dramaturg for this year's Institute, which culminates with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as part of New Haven's International Festival of Arts & Ideas on June 23 and 24.
