Filmed at The Caverns, an underground venue located at the foot of Monteagle Mountain in Pelham, TN, the live performance special features songs from throughout Carlile's extensive career as well as her critically acclaimed new album, By The Way, I Forgive You.

The production that has had audience members "burning off pounds just laughing," according to the Los Angeles Times, WaistWatchers The Musical! makes its Chicago Premiere at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St., this fall. Produced by Dana Matthow and featuring the queen of disco Martha Wash, known for singing the powerful anthem 'It's Raining Men,' and "Everybody Dance Now," the musical takes a lighthearted and hilarious look at women dealing with their relationship to food, friendship and fitness, while celebrating the transformative power of female friendship on the journey to self-acceptance. Capturing audiences of all ages from start to finish, the Chicago production begins September 13 for an open run with a press opening September 21, 2018.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced today that 15 young professionals have been awarded fellowships for the 2018-19 season. Theatre graduates from universities across the nation apply for this program that provides a year-long deep dive into the operations of the award-winning theatre. Fellowships cover a variety of artistic and administrative disciplines and provide specialized training that assists fellows with embarking on a professional career in the arts. Additionally, fellows participate in career development seminars, build professional contacts, and even serve as mentors themselves for Berkeley Rep's annual Teen One-Acts Festival.

It is the last home stand of Theatre Arlington's 45th Anniversary Season and they are bringing it on home with Rebecca Gilman's The Sweetest Swing in Baseball.  The quirky comedy centers on successful artist Dana Fielding whose latest gallery opening does not hit a home run with the critics. Combine that self-doubt with the departure of her boyfriend, she attempts suicide and ends up in a mental institution. It is there that she finds solace in the structured days with a couple of unlikely teammates - a psychopath and an alcoholic. But when her insurance company will only pay for ten days, they cook up a scheme to outplay the health care system. Without knowing much about him, Dana takes on the personality of the bad boy of baseball, Darryl Strawberry, who also struggled with the darker side of fame, rejection by the fans. Gilman's play reflects on how we measure success and failure, our own identity and being who you want to be.

Magic Theatre (Loretta Greco, Artistic Director and Jaimie Mayer, Managing Director) announced today the complete cast of Ashlin Halfnight's World Premiere The Resting Place, the first production of the 2018- 2019 season. The Resting Place will be directed by Jessica Holt. The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition, takes place August 21-25 at The Vineyard's Dimson 15th Street Theatre. Chosen from over 850 submissions from the U.S. and abroad, 30 finalist plays and musicals, each running 10-30 minutes in length, will be presented. The Saturday, August 25th presentation is the culmination of the week-long festival at which the Samuel French staff will choose the winning six pieces for licensing and publication in an anthology.

This Is My Brave, Inc. (TIMB), the national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding mental illness through storytelling, returns to New York City Monday, September 24, 7pm at Mason Hall at Baruch College. This one-night-only performance features NYC-area community members sharing true stories about their personal challenges with mental illness and health. These stories open a dialogue and create new opportunities for participants and audiences to thoughtfully engage around the topic of mental health.
