Teatro Paraguas launches its 12th season and its second appearance in the National Hispanic Cultural Center's Siembra Latino Theater Festival with a premiere production of Santa Fe playwright Alix Hudson's play Our Lady of Mariposas.

Teatro Paraguas has become a popular venue for poetry readings in Santa Fe.On the average two poetry readings happen each month, as well as the open-mic poetry event hosted by Santa Fe Poetry Trails the first Monday of every month.  New Mexico Literary Arts, a non-profit arts organization, recently awarded Teatro Paraguas the 2015 New Mexico Literary Arts Gratitude Award.

Teatro Paraguas presents Word Over All: Walt Whitman and Pablo Neruda, a celebration of the poetry and prose of two of the Americas' most beloved poets, opening on August 13, 2015 for four performances at Teatro Paraguas Studio in Santa Fe. Teatro Paraguas originally presented Word Over All in for two weekends in January 2015 as part of the ongoing ¡Poesia Viva! poetry performance series. The production was presented again for one weekend in April 2015 due to popular demand,.

Teatro Paraguas is pleased to announce its 11th season of Latino theater in Santa Fe, presenting six productions and two co-productions beginning in September 2014. The season includes four original productions by New Mexico playwrights.

When the Stars Trembled in Rio Puerco, an oral history play which premiered earlier this year to sold-out audiences in Santa Fe, will kick off the National Hispanic Cultural Center's first-ever Latino Theatre Festival, Siembra in September 2014.

Thanks to the community's support of a crowd-funding campaign, Teatro Paraguas and Recuerdos Vivos New Mexico are pleased to present a full stage production of the oral history play When The Stars Trembled in Rio Puerco at Teatro Paraguas in April 2014.
