Written by Houston playwright Michael Weems, and with music by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker and many more, Feeling Alright! is a whirlwind of music that defined an era.

Entertainer Terry Fator welcomed players and coaches from the Tacoma Rainiers on April 24 at his Terry Fator: The Voice of Entertainment show at The Mirage Hotel & Casino. One Night With Janis Joplin is a full-on concert experience and musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends and it runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from May 3 - June 2, 2013 and opens on Monday, May 6, 2013. Packed with classic songs ('Piece Of My Heart,' 'Summertime,' 'Mercedes Benz'), One Night With Janis Joplin also shines the spotlight on trailblazers who influenced Janis - like Bessie Smith, Etta James and Aretha Franklin.

LA-based singer-songwriter Beth Hart, known for her raw and powerful blues-rock sound, wraps her expressive vocals around classic soul covers on 'Seesaw', the second album that grew out of her musical ties with the acclaimed blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa. The album is released on Deluxe CD+DVD and Double Vinyl in the UK/Europe on Monday 20th May by Provogue Records (followed by US release on Tuesday 21st May).

In celebration and recognition of women who have made a difference in the world through their chosen art form, The Riverside Theatre today announced it has selected Dr. Cissy Houston as the recipient of the 4th Annual Women of Excellence in the Arts Award. This year's event will take place at the Theatre (91 Claremont Ave., bet. 120th & 122nd St.), on Friday, April 26, starting at 7:00 p.m. (preceded by a special reception at 6:00 p.m.), where Houston will discuss her book, "Remembering Whitney." Co-Chairs for this very special evening are R&B singers Chuck Jackson and Smokey Robinson!

The Pasadena Playhouse in association with Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich of One Night Productions, LLC, the Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeff Jampol of JAM, Inc. announced that in less than four weeks into its engagement, ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN has officially become the highest-grossing production in the history of The Pasadena Playhouse, breaking a previous record held by Stormy Weather which played for eight weeks in January - March, 2009. The production enters its final two weeks of performances, playing through April 21, 2013.
