Kacee Clanton Leads ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN at ZACH Theatre, Beginning Tonight

ZACH Theatre's much-anticipated staging of ONE NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin stars Kacee Clanton, the Los Angeles-based rock and blues singer-songwriter who previously played Janis Joplin in Love, Janis and has toured as lead vocalist with Big Brother & The Holding Company. ONE NIGHT WITH Janis Joplin opens tonight, July 10, at ZACH.

Long Wharf Theatre, in conjunction with Supreme Talent International will present Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller, on the Mainstage as part of its summer season. The musical runs from today, July 10-28 on the Mainstage.

SWISSTED Exhibition Opening & Book Party at L'Apicio Set for 7/23

On Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Fourth Arts Block (FABnyc), Epicurean Group, and McNally Jackson Books will host a reception and book party at L'Apicio to celebrate an outdoor installation of designs from Mike Joyce's bookSWISSTED: Vintage Rock Posters Remixed and Reimagined. The reception will include light snacks from L'Apicio and a selection of specialty cocktails for $5 to benefit the public art project. Books will be available from McNally Jackson; all book purchases will include a free specialty cocktail. Joyce will be onsite for book signing and mingling.

Then, the Fox Valley Orchestra with guest conductor Lucia Matos will take the stage to perform a mix of patriotic music and classical favorites. The evening culminates with what is sure to become a new tradition for Aurorans and neighbors from around the Western suburbs: a major 4th of July fireworks display set against the beautiful backdrop of the new RiverEdge Park, the Fox River and downtown Aurora.
