AN INTOLERANT VAUDEVILLE Set for UNFringed, 8/25

The UNFringed Festival and The Secret Theatre are pleased to present AN INTOLERANT VAUDEVILLE, conceived by Sam Viverito, written by Wendy Biller, Chris Hawthorne and Sam Viverito, with music by Ronnie Lawson and lyrics by Ronnie Lawson, Wendy Biller and Chris Hawthorne. Sitcom Parody REDESIGNING WOMEN Begins Off-Broadway Next Month

BevNap Productions will present the New York premiere of RE-DESIGNING WOMEN by Jamie Morris, the twisted mind behind campy confections including "Mommie Queerest," (LA Weekly Theater Award winner), "The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode," "The Silence of the Clams," and "Gilligan's Fire Island'. Directed by Christopher Kenney (The ThreePenny Opera on Broadway), this unauthorized original comedy parody celebrates one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 1980s. Performances run June 10 - 21, Wednesday - Saturday at 8pm & Sunday at 3pm at Baruch Performing Arts Center  (55 Lexington Avenue -- entrance on 25th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues). This month, ?Joe's Pub at The Public presents showcases from a range of artists including writer Dan Hoyle to orchestral indie band Mother Falcon to downtown darling Erin Markey to a slew of French jazz musicians, as part of the Paris Jazz Club's French Quarter Festival, coinciding with APAP|NYC, the annual Association of Performing Artists Presenters conference. The performances will occur nightly from tonight, January 8 through Tuesday, January 13.

RE-DESIGNING WOMEN Opens Tonight at Diversionary Theatre

Playwright Jamie Morris ('Mommie Queerest,' 'The Facts of Life: The Lost Episode,' and 'The Silence of the Clams') ' is at it again with his latest comedy parody. This time around he spoofs another popular 1980s sitcom, sending up the gals of the Sugarbaker Design Firm in Atlanta. The West Coast Premiere of 'Re-Designing Women' opens May 29 for a three-week run at the Diversionary Theater.

Darius-Anthony Robinson, most notable for playing ex- con, Mitch Mahoney(et. al) in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee or singing "Big, Black Lady Stopping the Show" numbers in Uptown Players annual fundraiser, Broadway Our Way, or dancing (sometimes skating) up a storm in the ensembles and chorus, more recently Xanadu at WaterTower Theatre, Darius-Anthony Robinson, can be seen performing across the metroplex and country will make his long-awaited solo concert debut Dec. 18 for a one-night-only-performance engagement at Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie.
