Orbit Arts Academy rounds out a successful summer and starts fall classes.

This week, Broadway Dreams will workshop and present a staged reading of the new musical Mary & Max at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA. Through an integrated partnership between the not-for-profit performing arts training program and the musical's creators, Broadway Dreams students and faculty will have the opportunity to be actively involved in the process of creating a new musical.

Brad Bass (Wicked, Memphis) and Cari Kassel bring a special one night presentation of their musical THE COLLINS BOY to New York tonight. 

Last night, Thursday, September 20, legendary Broadway director and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince served as Master of Ceremonies for the the fourth-annual "Broadway Salutes," an industry-wide celebration to honor those who make Broadway great. The event was presented by The Broadway League and Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) and was once again held in the Times Square Visitors Center (7th Avenue between 46th and 47th Streets). Yesterday, October 19, MEMPHIS celebrated its second anniversary on Broadway. On hand to celebrate at Glass House Tavern were MEMPHIS creators David Bryan and Joe DiPietro along with their Tony winning cast including Chad Kimball, Montego Glover, Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, John Jellison, and Nancy Opel.

The 2011 edition of the annual Carols for a Cure album is now in the works. Produced by Rock-it Science Records and currently in it's thirteenth year, purchase of the album benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This highly anticipated annual holiday release features casts from the current line-up of prestigious shows performing new and traditional holiday music. Broadway's Carols for a Cure offers a 'snapshot' of each season, as the casts and orchestras from each show on Broadway perform their own holiday track. The cast of WICKED made their way into the studio last week and BroadwayWorld was there to capture the session!
