Winners Announced for the 2017 Sydney Theatre Awards

At a star-studded ceremony tonight, the winners of the 2017 Sydney Theatre Awards were announced, with 37 Awards presented, shared between 18 productions which played in Sydney during the calendar year of 2017. Over 450 members of the Sydney theatre community packed the Everest Theatre at the Seymour Centre to celebrate the best of Sydney theatre.

Belvoir has announced a suite of major new opportunities for emerging and independent artists aimed at supporting the future of theatre locally and nationally. At the annual Philip Parsons Memorial Lecture at Belvoir St Theatre last night, presented by Nick Schlieper, Artistic Director Eamon Flack announced a major new independent theatre program - 25A - which reopens the Downstairs Theatre to independent artists, the inaugural Andrew Cameron Fellowship for an emerging artistic leader, and the launch of a discount ticket program for artists for 2018.
