The 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 55 diverse and engaging short films in competition, including 29 world premieres. The selected shorts include a cross-section of international and U.S. filmmakers and were curated from a record 4,754 submissions. For the second year running, 40% of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. The short films will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, which consist of five narrative, three documentary, one animation, and one hybrid program. The program will also include special screenings and the 12th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts Film program, sponsored by Nutella®, runs throughout the Festival, April 18-29.

Schwartz and Norman E. Thalheimer, and directed by Jim Blanchette.

Royal Family Productions, a non-profit theatre company known for its innovative productions and development of new original work, will present a benefit staging of a new series of monologues entitled WOMEN ON FIRE: Stories from the Frontlines, written, curated, and directed by Royal Family artistic director Chris Henry from stories told to her by a group of anonymous women, with choreography from Lorna Ventura. A generous, anonymous donor has paid the $ 2.3 million debt of Raue Center For The Arts. The $ 2.3 million was the remainder of an original $ 8.8 million debt created when the Raue building was renovated in 2002. The debt, and ongoing maintenance on the 90 - year old historic building was financially prohibitive. Raue Center is grateful for the gift, which will allow the organization to focus on reformatting programs and expanding educational classes for children and adults.

Visitors to the 175 acre-grounds of Montalvo Arts Center will be able to enhance their experience of exploring the Center's lush forest trails with Four Bridges, a newly commissioned soundwork by acclaimed composer Howard Hersh.
