BWW Review: ROMEO & JULIET: LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD, VOL. 2 - A Masterful, Exhilarating Contemporary Take on A Shakespeare's Classic

Prospect Theatre's inaugural production, Bradley Bredeweg's ingenious rock musical  ROMEO & JULIET: LOVE IS A BATTLEFIELD, VOLUME 2, simply WOWS with its cast of triple-threat performers singing the hell out of cleverly-chosen pop songs while many times dancing up a storm. Creator Bredeweg tightly directs his high-energy troupe with a fast, smooth pace.

BWW Review: THE WAY WE WEREN'T IS MONU-YENTL! at Hayes Theatre

Readers can you hear me? Readers can you see me? Readers can you read me? And all the Barbra puns you can think of, whatever will get you to this irreverent, hilarious and vocally delightful cabar-gay that is so much more than an ode to Streisand!

John Mellencamp Coming to Hershey Theatre

John Mellencamp's Plain Spoken Tour has been called "a triumphant, career-spanning show" (Hollywood Reporter) and a "superb performance…still full of fiery defiance" (Boston Globe). The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer launched the tour in early 2015 to support his critically-acclaimed 22nd studio album 'Plain Spoken' and extended with dates through Spring 2016 due to overwhelming fan demand. Following a run of more than 100 sold-out shows, Mellencamp announced today the seventh and final leg of the Plain Spoken Tour, with support artist Carlene Carter, kicking off October 11 at the Hanover Theater in Worcester, MA.

BWW Review: Rosemary Loar Justifies 'Greatest Hits' Status for Her 2006 QUANDO SWING With Powerful Revival At The Metropolitan Room

I didn't catch Rosemary Loar's original 2006 presentation of 'Quando Swing,' but I can't imagine it performed with more muscular honesty than it was Wednesday night at the Metropolitan Room in the latest monthly installment of Producer Stephen Hanks' 'New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits' series. We've come to expect lucid, intriguing shows from the vocalist, but engagement level on this occasion felt almost cathartic. Energy was full tilt, lyric communication authentic.
