Cal State Fullerton's Fall musical is the warm-hearted family play "Children of Eden" featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, (creator of the Tony-Award winning "Wicked," "Pippin" and "Godspell") with a book by John Caird. The production is directed by professional director and actor Rufus Bonds, Jr. with musical direction by David Lamoureaux and choreography by William F. Lett, running October 26-November 11 in the Little Theatre on campus. "Children of Eden" is a musical telling of the inspirational stories of "Adam and Eve," "Noah and the Ark" and other stories from the "Book of Genesis."

Artistic Director Mark Cuddy and Executive Director Christopher Mannelli have announced that Pirronne Yousefzadeh will be joining Geva Theatre Center in the newly-created position of Director of Engagement / Associate Artistic Director. She will be a member of the senior leadership team and will be responsible for planning, leading and growing the organization's community engagement efforts. She will also be a key member of the artistic staff, participating in season planning and directing productions in both the Wilson and Fielding Stages. Ms. Yousefzadeh will begin her new position in September, and relocate to Rochester in the spring of 2019. Geva's new Engagement Department is supported in part by a grant from the Allen and Joyce Boucher fund of the Rochester Area Community Foundation.
SPACE on Ryder Farm--a nonprofit residency program for artists and activists located on a 223 year-old working organic farm in Brewster, NY--announced that applications for all of its 2019 residency programs are now open for submission. The Playwrights Foundation has hired a new managing director, Kathy Li. Kathy (Ruoran) Li is a bilingual theater manager with professional experience both in the United States and in China, Kathy has recently served as Associate Managing Director for Yale Repertory Theatre and for Yale Cabaret, and has produced five plays while in graduate school. Prior to coming to the US, Kathy worked for Shanghai Cultural Exchange Agency to present international theater and dance for Shanghai International Arts Festival, and for Modern Drama Valley to organize community engagement events and support theater productions in her hometown Shanghai, China. Kathy holds an MFA in Theater Management from Yale School of Drama, and a BA from Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
