OSO at Southampton Inn Presents Dinner With The 2 Josh's And Kate April 17

OSO at The Southampton Inn, 91 Hill Street in Southampton continues its popular 'Dinner and...' Series featuring a 3 course gourmet dinner and conversations with luminaries in The Hamptons with a very special evening featuring three Hamptonites who have delighted audiences on stages across the East End: Josh Perl founder of The Naked Stages, Josh Gladstone Artistic Director, John Drew Theatre at Guild Hall and Watermill Center Artist in Residence writer/actor/director/choreographer Kate Mueth. The trio will give audiences a brief preview of the upcoming Naked Stages Marathon at Guild Hall; what special events are planned for the 2009 Season and do a short performance in an intimate salon like atmosphere.

Tony- and Emmy- winner Elaine Stritch will be honored for her 'many achievements and humanity' on Monday, February 9 at the 6th annual pre-Valentine's gala, LOVE 'N' COURAGE hosted by Betsy Von Furstenberg at The National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) with cocktails at 6:30pm, dinner at 7:00pm. Proceeds benefit the emerging playwrights' program at Theater for the New City, one of the last bastions for experimental and political theater in 21st century New York in the East Village. Joining the list of previously announced list of celebrities who will turn out to salute Ms. Stritch on Feb. 9 are Barbara Barrie, Eli Wallach, Anne Jackson, along with Hal and Judy Prince.

The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) is presenting the return engagement of its acclaimed production of ENTER LAUGHING: THE MUSICAL. Performances began January 21st, with an official opening night that was celebrated on January 29th. The return engagement runs until March 8th only; all performances will be at the company's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's (Lexington Avenue just south of 54th Street).

Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre to Celebrate 80th Anniversary with Nov. 9 Gala

THE NEIGHBORHOOD PLAYHOUSE SCHOOL OF THE THEATRE will celebrate its 80th Anniversary with a gala and reunion for alumni, patrons, faculty and students of the renowned school which is one of the oldest theatre institutions in New York City. The celebration will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 6 PM at Tavern on the Green.

Albee, Prince, Pierce and MORE to Honor Hagen and Berghof at NYPL

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center has acquired the papers of renowned performers and acting teachers Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof. The collection consists of thousands of pages of unpublished correspondence, diaries, scripts and manuscripts, photographs, clippings and other documentation relating to the dynamic theatrical careers of both Hagen and Berghof. This collection of professional and personal papers, spanning nearly 100 years of theater history, is being made public for the first time. To celebrate the bequest, the Library is planning a series of eight free public programs featuring many close friends and colleagues of Ms. Hagen and Mr. Berghof's including such figures as Harold Prince, Edward Albee, David Hyde Pierce and Eli Wallach. Programs take place in the Bruno Walter Auditorium in The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue (between 64th and 65th streets). 'Penang' to be Part of MITF Starting July 14th

In war, the most tragic loss is that of innocence, and especially the innocent. Conversely, the most redeeming element can be the friendship - indeed, the love -- that guys in war have for one another, as shown in James L. Larocca's stark drama of hope and despair, PENANG. The play begins performances on July 14th, during the opening night of the Ninth Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival. Directed by Donya K. Washington and co-produced by Dana Monagan, PENANG will be performed at the WorkShop Theater's MainStage space, located at 312 West 36th Street.
