On Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 8pm, Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) presents a special, free preview concert by Grammy-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann and jazz guitarist Ben Monder, part of BMCM+AC's celebration of its new permanent home at 120 College St. in downtown Asheville. For over 15 years, the Theo Bleckmann & Ben Monder Duo has toured the U.S., Europe, and Asia creating a unique approach to what might be called 'jazz art song,' blurring the boundaries between jazz, classical, ambient and rock.

SITI Company, the internationally acclaimed ensemble theater co-founded by American director Anne Bogart, presents Bogart's stunning direction of Euripides' tragedy The Bacchae. Presented as part of BAM's Next Wave festival, the production will celebrate its New York premiere on Wednesday through Saturday, October 3 through 6, 2018, 7:30 PM and Sunday, October 7 at 3:00 PM for 5 performances at the BAM Harvey Theater. Two Significant Collections Gifted To The Bowdoin College Museum Of Art

The Bowdoin College Museum of Art (BCMA) today announced the gift of two major collections of artworks that will significantly expand its holdings: nearly 350 works from the estate of Marion Boulton "Kippy" Stroud (1939-2015), and the entire personal collection of artist Walter Pach (1883-1958). Totaling over 1,500 objects, the Pach and Stroud Collections will greatly enhance the encyclopedic collection, with the addition of new works that complement the Museum's existing holdings or by artists who are not currently represented.

Today, Creative Time raises artist LaToya Ruby Frazier's Pledges of Allegiance flag, Flint, 1,462 days and counting man-made water crisis. The flag, which references the number of days Flint, MI residents have been without water, will be on view at sixteen cultural institutions and universities across sixteen states: Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Texas.
