Pee Wee Creating New Movie with Judd Apatow

According to Darkhorizons.com, Paul Reubens confirmed at at Comic Con yesterday that he is currently working with Judd Apatow's production company to crate a new Pee Wee Herman movie. Reubens and Paul Rust have written the script, but there is still no word on who will direct the project.

The Bootleg Theater, Alicia Adams, Artistic Director, has announced a special performance of The Interlopers, a world premiere play by Gary Lennon, directed by Jim Fall, on Sunday, June 26 at 7pm, which will benefit OUTFEST. A post-play discussion will be conducted by the playwright and the director.

Under the helm of sought after Los Angeles theatre Director Todd Nielsen, the Tony Award-winning Musical 1776 will be presented at the Glendale Centre Theatre June 23 - August 13, 2011. With Music and Lyrics by Sherman Edwards, Book by Peter Stone, and Musical Direction by the award-winning Steven Applegate, 1776 premiered on Broadway in 1969 and is based on the events leading up to the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Pee-Wee's Broadway Show Gets DVD Release This Fall

Image Entertainment, Inc. (OTCQB: DISK) has acquired the home entertainment rights to THE PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY and will be releasing it on Blu-rayTM and DVD in the fall in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Pee-wee's Playhouse. Opening to critical acclaim at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Nov. 11, 2010, 'The Pee-wee Herman Show' is 90 minutes of subversive humor and childlike wonder based on both Reubens' original stage show, 'The Pee-wee Herman Show,' and the Emmy-winning Saturday morning TV show, 'Pee-wee's Playhouse,' which became a cultural phenomenon. The New York Times called the new Broadway show 'yummier than chocolate,' New York Magazine said, 'Welcome back, Pee-wee! You were sorely missed,' and the New York Post noted, 'The audience screams for joy!' The announcement was made by Image Entertainment's Chief Acquisition Officer, Bill Bromiley.

Three decades after his first HBO special, Paul Reubens returns to the network in an exclusive presentation of his recent hit Broadway show. Debuting SATURDAY, MARCH 19 (10:00-11:30 p.m. ET/PT), the HBO presentation THE PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW ON BROADWAY was shot at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York in January, immediately following the conclusion of the show's exclusive Broadway engagement.
