It was a big day at Sari's yesterday, as the iconic venue just unveiled a brand new Broadway portrait! Friends and family joined Tony Award winner and star of The Prom Beth Leavel, as her portrait joined the historic collection on the restaurant's walls, honoring Broadway's finest for more than 85 years. Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), last night presented the 2019 'Mr. Abbott' Award Gala, hosted by SDC Member, and Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce. In addition, SDC Member, 2015 'Mr. Abbott' Award recipient, and Tony Award winner James Lapine presented a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award to Victoria Traube. 

From promposals to full-ensemble dance numbers, premiering today is the official music video for "YOU HAPPENED," a joyous group number from the hit Broadway musical THE PROM.  The video made its debut yesterday. With on-stage performance clips as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the cast in-studio, the video for "You Happened" is the perfect companion to the feel-good track - watch below! 

Six-time Emmy Award winner Ryan Murphy announced today on Instagram that he will host a special performance of THE PROM to benefit Hetrick Martin, GLAAD and The Trevor Project on Tuesday, April 9.

Kiss Me, Kate officially opened on Broadway Thursday, March 14. As per Broadway tradition, the Legacy Robe was awarded to the ensemble member with the most Broadway credits, in this case, Erica Mansfield!

Masterfully blending Matthew Sklar's toe-tapping score, Chad Beguelin's rib-tickling and heartfelt lyrics, and the stellar performances of the cast, this album is as charming as it is mesmerizing.

According to NBC, the creators of The Prom are reaching out to Vice President Mike Pence to invite him to see the show.

It was announced today that the Original Broadway Cast Recording Of The Prom is set for digital release December 14th and physically January 11th.  Available for preorder now, the album is produced by Scott M. Riesett and Tony Award Nominee Matthew Sklar, with music by Sklar and lyrics by four-time Tony Award Nominee Chad Beguelin.

Just last night, New York Stage and Film held its annual Winter Gala, featuring performances and appearances by Tony Award nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Jon Robin Baitz, Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, David Forman, Tony Award winner John Gallagher Jr, Grammy Award nominee Rob Hyman, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Mozhan Marno, Bonnie Milligan, Manu Narayan, Josh Radnor, Dee Roscioli, Academy Award and Tony Award winner John Patrick Shanley, Grammy Award and Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik, and Obie Award winner Lucy Thurber.
