Penguin Rep Theatre, Rockland County's professional theatre, will hold its sixth annual auction Sunday, October 9 at the Stony Point Conference Center, located just up the street from the theatre at 17 Crickettown Road in Stony Point, New York. Admission is free.

The Wells Fargo Theatrical Diversity Project opening night celebration honors Playhouse Executive Board Member David DiCristofaro of Wells Fargo Bank tonight for his leadership and support of theatrical diversity at The Pasadena Playhouse. The evening is held in conjunction with the official opening night performance of BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY starring Robin Givens.

Yestersay, The Mountaintop starring Samuel L. Jackson (DR. Martin Luther King, Jr.,) and Angela Bassett, began previews in Katori Hall's highly anticipated new work, The Mountaintop. The Mountaintop is directed by the Tony-nominated Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun) and will open officially on October 13, 2011 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Producers Jean Doumanian and Sonia Friedman announced today that prime tickets to The Mountaintop will be reserved for each and every performance, even in cases when the show is otherwise sold-out, for the low price of $34.50. Twenty Same-Day Reserve tickets will be available each day when the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre box office opens at 10:00 a.m. (Noon on Sundays) for that day's performance(s). They can be purchased with cash or a credit card on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limit of two Same-Day Reserve tickets per person.

To help celebrate Fashion's Night Out (and preceding their appearance in the October issue of Vogue, photographed by Norman Jean Roy) he stars of the Broadway premiere of The Mountaintop, Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett, will make their first public appearance together on Thursday evening, September 8. Following their rehearsal, Jackson and Bassett will sit down with Adam Green, contributing editor for Vogue, at the Giorgio Armani boutique (760 Madison Avenue) to discuss their eagerly anticipated return to the stage this October in Katori Hall's Olivier Award-winning play.
