Penguin Rep 6th Auction To Be Held At Stony Point Conference Center 10/9
Penguin Rep Theatre, Rockland County's professional theatre, will hold its sixth annual auction Sunday, October 9 at the Stony Point Conference Center, located just up the street from the theatre at 17 Crickettown Road in Stony Point, New York. Admission is free.
Among the 100 items to be auctioned are: House seats to Broadway's Tony Award winning musical MEMPHIS, orchestra seats to THE MOUNTAINTOP starring Samuel Jackson and Angela Bassett and THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS with four-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, six tickets to the long-running Off Broadway sensation STOMP, and tickets to Penguin Rep's acclaimed Off Broadway musical, THE DEVIL'S MUSIC: THE LIFE & BLUES OF BESSIE SMITH, now entering its fifth month at St. Luke's Theatre; as well as a week in a villa (complete with live-in help) in the South of France, in a cabin in Vermont and in North Carolina, and at the luxurious Star Island Resort in Florida; a watercolor painting of your home and a photographic portrait of your family; a bottle of Bocelli wine autographed by Andrea Bocelli himself; a mahogany grand piano, Rangers tickets, along with antiques, art, jewelry, and collectibles.
"For the first time, bidding will also occur on-line at www.biddingforgood.com/penguinrep," said Penguin Rep executive director Andrew M. Horn. "So if you can't attend, you can go on-line and place your bid now."
Professional auctioneer Gordon Rauer returns to preside over the proceedings.
Preview is scheduled for 2 pm, with the auction beginning at 3 pm. Refreshments will be available.
Proceeds from the auction benefit Penguin Rep, Rockland County's first year-round, non-profit professional theatre, now celebrating its 34th season.
