Nothing seems to scare the valiant little troupe Threepenny Theatre Company. What has it got to lose? So what if the budget allows for no more than a perfunctory set? So what if its selection of classics (i.e., MACBETH) hardly has the appeal of a crowd-pleasing musical? Relying on a commitment to quality of writing and performance, it has pulled off a real coup: A stunning production of Eugene O'Neill's warhorse of a classic, the autobiographical LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, produced posthumously and, in 1962, given classic cinema status by Director Sidney Lumet and brilliant performers Ralph Richardson, Katharine Hepburn, Dean Stockwell, and Jason Robards, Jr. (to whom O'Neill was as essential as Tennessee Williams was to Elizabeth Taylor). This particular warhorse, however, is of the Trojan variety, and Director Matt Crewse has tamed the beast with the aid of four performances that are nothing short of brilliant.

Woodie King's National Black Touring Circuit's 2015 Black History Month Play Series will feature "Adam," the story of legendary Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, and a reading of Ossie Davis' seminal play "The People of Clarendon County" from February 8 - 22 in Harlem, Queens and the Bronx. This frolicsome adventure for the entire family is a new stage musical by Brad Carroll and Jeremy Mann based on the film of the same name written and directed by Robert Zappia. Christmas is Here Again plays in the Marian Theatre today, November 13 - December 24, 2014.

Multimedia entertainment studio Electus, an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IACI) today announces that is has sold The Raft to National Geographic Channel in the U.S. and will be produced in association with Brian Catalina Entertainment. Electus International will act as the international distributor for The Raft and will be available at MIPCOM this October.

Among other roles, Don Keefer originated the role of Bernard in DEATH OF A SALESMAN on Broadway, directed by Elia Kazan, which ran from February 1949 to November 1950. According to the New York Times, stage and screen actor Donald Hood Keefer, 98, died in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
