The laughter is sure to continue at the Huron Country Playhouse this summer as Last Chance Romance gets ready to charm audiences at the intimate Playhouse II stage following the success of season-opener Sexy Laundry.

Running July 2nd through July 18th, this zany romantic comedy about the fickle nature of love is by playwright Sam Bobrick, the masterful writer behind such iconic television shows as "The Andy Griffith Show," "Get Smart" and "Saved by the Bell."

"Last Chance Romance is a fun and flirty comedy for anyone who's experienced the ups and downs of love and marriage," says Artistic Director Alex Mustakas. "Disappointment and desperation prove perfect foils for an unconventional modern day romance as two aging singletons relentlessly chase what they believe may be their last chance at happiness."

Thirty-something Myra Witzer is determined to get married ... at any cost. She sets her sights on Leonard Shank and shamelessly pursues him, much to his dismay. When she finally lands her man, there's only one small problem: the thrill of the chase is infinitely more exciting than the monotonous routine of married life.

She wants out, but there's just one problem. The once-resistant Leonard is now entirely smitten and will do anything to prove he's Prince Charming! The hilarious antics that result from this clever switch on the clichéd woman on the hunt for a husband is sure to resonate with both women and men.

Daniela Vlaskalic stars as the love-obsessed Myra Witzer. Audiences may recognize Vlaskalic from her roles in Drayton Entertainment's productions of Deathtrap, I'll Be Back Before Midnight and How the Other Half Loves. Vlaskalic has also performed across Canada appearing with Belfry Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Theatre Aquarius, and the Stratford Festival to name a few.

Kevin Kruchkywich plays the cautious, but hopeful Leonard Shank. Grand Bend audiences will remember Kruchkywich from last year's dizzy farce, Look, No Hans!. Kruchkywich has performed around the world, including appearances with Vancouver Playhouse, Mayfield Dinner Theatre, Manitoba Theatre Centre, and a tour of South Africa and England with Theatre Nomad.

In her Drayton Entertainment debut Susan Henley plays Gloria Fossberg, Myra's therapist. Henley has performed in a wide variety of productions, from Anne of Green Gables and The Sound of Music to Cinderella. She has also spent three seasons with the Stratford Festival.

Funnyman Paul Brown returns to the Drayton Entertainment stage as Myra's Uncle Fred. Audiences may recognize Brown from past productions including The Crazy Time, Cinderella, Crazy For You, and Caught In The Net.

Both Brown and Henley work double duty to bring additional kooky characters to life in this fun-filled comedy.

Director Johnna Wright takes the reigns for Last Chance Romance guiding the top notch cast through all the twists and turns in this rocky road to love. Wright is a recipient of two Jessie Richardson Awards (Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Production) for directing The Merry Wives of Windsor with Bard on the Beach in Vancouver. She has also won a SATAward for Outstanding Direction of The Taming of the Shrew with Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan.

In addition to Wright, the Creative Team also includes Set Designer Samantha Burson, Costume Designer Holly Lloyd, and Lighting Designer Louise Guinand.

Last Chance Romance is proudly sponsored by Lavis Contracting. Media Sponsors are CJCS 1240, 99.9 Fox FM, and Business London. The Design Sponsor is CHOK 103.9 FM. The 2015 Season Media Sponsor is CTV.
