Musical theatre star Silvie Paladino and special guest Nathan Stark will herald the arrival of the festive season in Arts Centre Melbourne's Christmas Melodies at Hamer Hall on 11 December 2017.The Salvation Army Melbourne Staff Band and National Boys Choir will join the pair for some feel-good Christmas entertainment to round off a year of exciting Morning Melodies performances.

Based on the best-selling book by Eric Idle and inspired by Edward Lear's poem, The Quite Remarkable Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat has been adapted for the stage by Dougal Irvine.

The World Premiere of The Nightmares of Carlos Fuentes runs at the Arcola Theatre from 23 July until 16 August, with press night on 29 July 2014. Design is by Ellan Parry, lighting by Matt Eagland and sound by Andy Graham. Further casting will be announced shortly.

Rashid Razaq's new play, The Nightmares of Carlos Fuentes, is based on an award-winning short story by Hassan Blasim. It is directed by Nicolas Kent, who was Artistic Director of the Tricycle Theatre from 1984-2012. The cast includes Nabil Elouahabi who was a leading actor in the Olivier nominated, and critically acclaimed trilogy, The Great Game: Afghanistan, which ran at the Tricycle Theatre and toured throughout the US. He also was a series regular in Channel 4's BAFTA nominated Top Boy (series two).

National Youth Music Theatre will present an exciting season of work for summer 2014, including a new commission to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War. The company of over 150 actors, musicians, creative and backstage teams aged between 11 and 23 will stage The Ragged Child at the Rose Theatre, Kingston (23 - 27 July), The Hired Man at the St. James Theatre, London (13 - 16 August) and Brass at the City Varieties Music Hall, Leeds (20 - 23 August).

When our heroine cleverly escapes, a lyrical love story laced with devilish humor unfolds. The production features a bluegrass score by longtime Kneehigh composer Stu Barker, performed by live musicians and the cast.
