Last night's star-studded event at the Geffen Playhouse and the pre-show host committee dinner at Los Angeles' The Backyard restaurant grossed over $1 million for the Geffen Playhouse's education, outreach and artistic initiatives. The fundraiser, honoring Hollywood legend Carol Burnett and Chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment Jim Gianopulos, was co-chaired by Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company Robert A. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony Hopkins will portray American writer Ernest Hemingway in the new film HEMINGWAY & FUENTES. Andy Garcia, who will portray fisherman, Gregorio Fuentes, is set to direct the film.

PBS has announced that Cyndi Lauper, Rainn Wilson and Anna Deveare Smith will join previously announced hosts for its upcoming series PBS Arts Fall Festival. The Festival will air on Friday evenings, beginning October 14, 2011.
Actor Rainn Wilson, film director Taylor Hackford, actor Andy Garcia, singer/songwriter Rosanne Cash, singer Linda Ronstadt and journalist Paula Zahn are among the celebrity hosts who will introduce the programs and provide behind-the-scenes perspective for PBS' first-ever Arts Fall Festival, it was announced today by PBS President and CEO Paula A. Kerger.
