A video of the Broadway production's final curtain call ends with an a promise of an encore.

From January 9 to February 6, 2016, SpeakEasy Stage Company will proudly present the New England Premiere of the recent Broadway version of the acclaimed musical VIOLET. 

 Sutton Foster won two Tony Awards for her leading roles in "Anything Goes" and "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and starred in the ABC Family TV series "Bunheads."  She returned to TV this past spring as the star of the hit new series "Younger" on TV Land by "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star, which enters its second season in January.   She will make her debut with the celebrated Broadway @ The Nourse series in San Francisco produced by Mark Cortale, for one show only, on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 8:00 PM.  Michael Rafter will join her at the piano.  The Broadway @ The Nourse concert series will benefit San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Project Open Hand, and San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus.  Tickets are now on-sale - further information can be found at www.cityboxoffice.com/broadway or by calling (415) 392-4400.

Broadway newcomer Emerson Steele opens up about her transition from New York back down South, sharing the stage with the legendary Sutton Foster, and her dream of being the first female to play Jean Valjean on Broadway.

BroadwayWorld.com has confirmed that SCHOOL OF ROCK star Sierra Boggess returned to the stage last night, complete with a brace on her left foot and ankle after suffering an off-stage injury.

THE WILD PARTY is a musical with a book by Michael John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe and music and lyrics by LaChiusa. Based on the 1928 Joseph Moncure March poem of the same name, the show is about the masks that people wear culturally and the removal of those masks over the course of a party. The 2000 Broadway production was originally presented as a series of vaudeville sketches, with signs at the beginning and the end that announced the next scene with a show card propped on an easel at the side of the stage. In this UT Department of Theatre and Dance production, that device has been abandoned. The piece, in this incarnation, uses a vaudeville straw hat act to bookend the production at open and close. The remainder of the show, for the most part, is the actual party and I found the device to be most effective putting more heart into the piece than the original concept did.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center enters its final week of open call for new musical theater projects. Submissions will be considered for development and presentation during the 2016 Summer Season.

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit professional theatre company, which recently opened its fourth season in its state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick, is pleased to present New Classics from Current Composers, a benefit concert to support both OSTC's Live Music Initiative and the The Raymond Picozzi Endowed Fund for Musical Theatre, for one performance only on Sunday, December 13, 2015.

Cast Aside Productions, Portland's professional musical theater company, is proud to present Andrew Lippa's musical jazz tragedy, The Wild Party. Performances begin tonight, November 12, 2015 at the recently renovated Maine Charitable Mechanic Association Ballroom in downtown Portland. The production is the Maine professional premier and will be directed and choreographed by Celeste! Green, with music direction by Rebekkah Willey. The limited run will feature 5 performance with 80 seats in the round.

Die auch in Deutschland sehr beliebte Fernsehserie und diverse Kinoverfilmungen machen die sympathischen Grufties seit Jahrzehnten und Generationen zu Kultfiguren. Das Musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY kehrt im Februar 2016 in der deutschsprachigen Fassung in den Zeltpalast Merzig zuruck. Direkt danach folgt ein Gastspiel im Theater 11 in Zurich. Zum Jahresende kommen die Addams dann ins Museumsquartier in Wien.

MainStage Irving-Las Colinas opens its 2015-16 Light the Lights! season with the new musical comedy, THE ADDAMS FAMILY (book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa).
